The Certified Pool/Spa Operator® certification program has delivered more training than any other program in the pool and spa industry since 1972, resulting in more than 240,000 successful CPO® certifications in 44 countries. The CPO® certification program is widely accepted by health departments. The 2009 Edition of the NSPF® Pool & Spa Operator™Handbook has been updated to include the most current information available, including the addition of metric calculations.Instructors receive comprehensive training and certification to teach the CPO® certification program. These instructors represent every segment in the aquatic industry including operators, health officials, service professionals, builders, manufacturers, property managers, retailers, and academicians. The training these instructors provide has helped protect millions of swimmers by reducing hazards at aquatic facilities.
The CPO® certification program can be taken as a two-day class that covers 14-16 hours of information from the NSPF® Pool & Spa Operator™ Handbook (provided) and local codes taught by an NSPF® Instructor. This dynamic setting offers direct interaction with an instructor and fellow students. Pass the open book exam and earn CPO® certification.

This engaging, interactive program is a great stand-alone online training program covering the essentials of pool and spa operations. The eight lesson, self-paced curriculum (see the lessons listed at right) covers the material in the 18 chapters of the NSPF® Pool & Spa Operator™ Handbook, which is provided with your paid registration. The online program includes interactive activities throughout, video demonstrations, and knowledge quizzes at the end of each lesson to help with information retention. Students have access to the Pool Operator Primer™ online course for a six month period, which gives the student the opportunity to review the material many times. Successful completion of all eight lessons earns a Record of Completion.
