The Broward Sherriff’s Office [BSO] & the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation[DBPR] have completed a Contracting "Sting" Operation...

The Results were :

The ARREST of Three [3] Individuals for Unlicensed Contracting,

The ARREST of One [1] Individual on an Outstanding Warrant

ISSUANCE of Two [2] Drug-Related Notices to Appear.

ISSUANCE of Eight [8] Cease & Desist Orders & two [2] Citations.

DBPR & the BSO Investigators gathered Advertisements from the Internet for Construction Work [CRAIGSLIST?]...Unlicensed Contractors had Presented Themselves as Qualified to do Construction work.

“The Department [DBPR] is Committed to Partnering with Law Enforcement on STING Operations to Ensure that Unlicensed Contractor understand that Unlicensed Contracting is a Crime," said Interim Secretary Charlie Liam.

“It is Important that We Continue to Work with DBPR to Protect Homeowners from Unscrupulous & Unlicensed Workers," said Broward Sheriff Al Lambertti.

All Licensed Contractors are required to Display their License Number on All Advertising, [including Craigslist]...Failure to do so is a Fine of $500.00!
